Pioneer Electronics has introduced its new Blu-Ray Disc / DVD / CD writer for desktop computers. The new BDR-2203 is an internal writer that offers both the large storage capacity and high definition functionality made available by Blu-Ray discs.
The new Pioneer BDR-2203 offers 8x write speed for dual-layer BD-R Blu-Ray disc meda, offering users access to the 50 gigabyte of storage from Blu-Ray discs. Additionally, the BDR-2203 comes complete with software that will allow both the hobbiest and the professional computer user to access the Blu-ray writer’s full capabilities.
In announcing the release of the product, Pioneer revealed that the BDR-2003 Blu-Ray writer took approximately 15 minutes to write 25 GB of data onto a single layer BD disc and just over 30 minutes to write 50 GB of data to more than 10 single-layer DVD-R discs.
With a projected price point of $249.99, the Pioneer BDR-2203 Blu-ray writer is affordable to every user. It’s support for multiple disc formats and extensive software packages shows that Pioneer is more than serious about its future in the Blu-Ray market.
The new Blu-ray writer allows users to connect their high definition camcorder to their PC and create professional high definition Blu-ray discs complete with pictures, video and audio which can be then played on a standard Blu-Ray disc player. The resulting output from the BDR-2203 is amazing 1080p resolution HDTV pictures.
With the introduction of this internal Blu-Ray writer, Pioneer is establishing itself as a leader in the Blu-Ray market.
